Free Agency: Day 7

So the initial mad rush of free agency is all but over and now the real deals are still to be done. Manning is due to announce which team he will sign for any day with the options open to him being Tennessee, Denver and late comers San Francisco. A couple of signings have been made over the weekend though.

Evan Mathis, one of the top guards available in free agency has decided to stay in Philadelphia. he signed a 5 year contract making eagles fans very happy as their offensive line was much improved last year and they can now build on that success next season. Plaxico Burress a top receiver available in free agency is also linked with a move to the Eagles, he would hopefully give them a target man in the end zone and improve their Red zone efficiency.

Anthony Gonzalez, a wide receiver who previously played for Indianapolis has signed with the New England Patriots as has Brandon Lloyd. Lloyd was believed to be one of the Patriots top targets of free agency and they got there man over the weekend. With the addition of two new receivers to partner Wes Welker, The Patriots now have all the weapons on offence to charge at the Play off's again so long as they can vastly improve their defence before the season starts.

Another wide Receiver Mario Manningham has signed with the 49ers, they add another weapon to that growing offence and they are also in the hunt for Peyton Manning. If manning is to sign with San Fran that puts the 49ers in play off contention. They already have a good defence so look out if the 49ers are on your teams schedule next season.

Last years QB for San Fran was Alex Smith who is currently a free agent. He had been offered a contract to return to the 49ers but on the news that they may like Manning to join their franchise he is yet to accept and has visited other teams who are in the hunt for a QB like Miami so watch this space.

Seattle have filled there QB spot with Matt Flynn. He has been Aaron Rodgers back in Green Bay and with two impressive performances last year while Rodgers was injured he now has a starting job in the NFL with Seahawks.

Brady Quinn another free agent QB has joined Kansas City to fight out for the starters job. he has played back in a number of teams for the 5 years he has been in the NFL and will be hoping to finally get a shot at starting for the Chiefs.

Free Agent Running back Mike Tolbert previously of the San Diego Chargers has joined the Carolina Panthers. He joins De'angelo Williams in their run attack. He is a down hill runner who can pick up short yardage affectively I don't see his role changing with this move.

That's it for this update, I will be posting up as soon as Manning has made up his mind so come back soon or hit the follow button for next post. feel free to add a comment about anything NFL related and I will reply. Also check out the poll on the top right and let me know what you think....
