Free Agency update: Day 4

So Peyton Manning is still the talk of Free Agency but we are getting a lot closer to finding out where he will end up. Earlier today its believed Manning rang the Miami dolphins to inform them he won't be joining there franchise. It has also been reported Manning will be working out for Denver and Tennessee in the next few days making this a two horse race for his signature.

Although all the talk has been about Manning plenty of other business has been completed since my last post. Mario Williams has finally completed is move to the Buffalo Bills. Williams automatically improves their defence and makes them a much more solid team. Expect a few teams to struggle against Buffalo this year, they showed there offence can score points in 2011 so maybe this is the piece of the puzzle that helps them push for the play off's.

Brandon Carr one of the top Corner backs available has signed with the Dallas Cowboys.
He replaces Terence Newman who the Cowboys cut earlier this week. This move gives Dallas more salary cap space without down grading at that position.

Laurent Robinson has signed to Jacksonville. Robinson had a solid year with Dallas at Receiver last year and was linked to a number of teams. This is a good move for the Jaguars who need more play makers to put points on the board instead of relying on the skills of Maurice Jones Drew, one of the leagues elite running backs. Chad Henne has also signed with Jacksonville and is believed to be there to support Blaine Gabbert at quarterback, Gabbert will be hoping for a break out year and Henne will be his back up and competition this season.

Peyton Hillis the Madden 2012 Cover boy has left Cleveland after a poor season and has joined the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs now have two good running backs with Hillis and Jamaal Charles. Expect them to continue to concentrate on running the ball next season. Kansas City also signed tight end Kevin Boss from agency, he maybe another weapon in the Run game as he is a very good blocking tight end.

Washington Redskins have continued to spend in free agency and have signed safety Brandon Meriweather, La'ron Landry is a free agent this year so Meriweather comes in to replace him, he's seen as a big tackling safety who can make big plays for the defence but has been very inconsistent recently, he is probably hoping a change of team can rejuvenate his career.

The Philadelphia Eagles have concentrated on retaining players after last years crazy free agency spending. They have signed DeSean Jackson to a 5 year deal, DeSean is one of the most explosive receivers in the league and Eagles fans will be happy to see him stay. They also signed Todd Herremans and Trent Cole to new contracts, both important players for the Eagles. It is thought that the Eagles may try to sign a safety in free Agency as that was a problem area for them last year.

Former Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker has joined the Cleveland Browns, he automatically upgrades there pass rush after losing favour in Philadelphia. expect him to start straight away for the Browns.

Eddie Royal joined the San Diego Chargers yesterday and is the second high profile receiver to do so. The Chargers lost Vincent Jackson to free agency but have signed Royal and Robert Meachem in his place, both players will expect to play a big part in a pass heavy offence and both are fast receivers with deep play threat. Expect the Chargers to continue the throw deep this year and Phillip Rivers to put up more big numbers as their quarterback.

Thanks for reading today's update and feel free to leave a comment on what's going on in free agency or about anything you would like me to discuss. I will continue to do updates over the next week of free agency then I will start gearing up toward the Draft on April 26th so stay tuned....
